Rob Ryan would have liked to have added Nnamdi Asomugha to his Dallas Cowboys defense. Since the free-agent cornerback spurned Big D for the Philadelphia Eagles, the defensive coordinator will have to make due with lesser free agents like Marcus Spears and Kenyon Coleman.
According to Rob, that's just fine.
"I don't�know if�we win the all-hype team," Ryan told reporters in a thickly veiled shot at the Philadelphia Eagles. "I think that might have gone to somebody else, but we're going to beat their ass when we play them."
It had barely been 72 hours since the Eagles signed Nnamdi Asomugha and Rob Ryan already worked himself into a lather about Philly and all the hype the team is getting. Training camp just started and Rob is gearing up for a game that'll be played the day before Halloween.
I'm not sure he was even asked about the Eagles in the question that preceded those comments. Judging from the original blog post by Clarence E. Hill Jr., Ryan was asked about the Cowboys' new defensive additions and somehow veered off into a crack about the Eagles. It's like he was chomping at the bit to turn the Eagles into the same representative of evil that Rex Ryan has made the New England Patriots.
This is an encapsulation of everything that's wonderful about the Ryan brothers. They don't even need perceived slights to get agitated. They're quite capable of creating slights on their own.
