Mike Tomlin or Mike McCarthy?
Steelers or Packers?
That's simple—we like Mike!
Talk about the easy way out—Mike's going to coach his team to a win in Super Bowl XLV.
That's the ticket Mike. But which one? This isn't Mike and Mike In The Morning, it's Mike vs. Mike as in Tomlin-McCarthy down in Dallas.
So who has the edge?
You could start with pedigree and both these Mikes are from the Marty Schottenheimer tree. Schottenheimer begot Dungy and Dungy begot Tomlin, if you want to be biblical about it.
Schottenheimer also begot McCarthy although Pittsburgh purists could say that Dungy is a descendant from the Chuck Noll school as a player, to which Tomlin has rightfully ascended to the Pittsburgh throne.
In his five seasons at Green Bay, McCarthy is 48-32 and 4-2 in the playoffs. Lost in the NFC title game to the Giants following a 13-3 2007 season, lost to Arizona in a Wild Card game after an 11-5 season in 2009.
McCarthy's biggest loss was to Brett Favre in that controversial move that preceded a horrible 6-10 outing in 2008. He's recovered nicely.
Tomlin's 43-21 in four seasons and 4-1 in the postseason with the all-important Lombardi Trophy on his resume from Super Bowl XLIII. Two AFC titles (08, 10) and no losing seasons, three of his four seasons were double-digit wins.

Yes, Iron Mike has done Pittsburgh proud.
So who has the edge?
Gotta go with Tomlin. McCarthy, at times, has had clock management issues. Tomlin's big issue was the absence of Ben Roethlisberger for four games this season and the team went 3-1, thank you.
The Packers come into Dallas as the first-ever six-seed to make it from the NFC.
Tomlin's, of course, the defensive guy in this matchup, McCarthy's the offensive guy.
It's no stretch that the Pittsburgh defense is the best between the two teams, but how about the Green Bay offense?
Green Bay is a big play offense. Pittsburgh would prefer to run the football to set up its big plays in the passing game.
Edge to Tomlin on defense.
So what you're looking at are two pretty good coaches, and Tomlin may be better than pretty good, it's something about those AFC championships and a Super Bowl crown that brings out the "G" word.
And you can apply that "G" word to the Pittsburgh defense.
It is great and that's not a stretch or the imagination.
Which reminds us of that often-used adage that Offense Sells Tickets and Defense Wins Championships.
If defense wins championships, then it's Mike's defense vs. Mike's offense.
The winner?
We like Mike.
