Jay Cutler: Sprained MCL Kept Quarterback From Returning To Field

Jay Cutler suffered a sprained MCL late in the first half of last Sunday's NFC Championship Game, according to ESPNChicago.com

Their has been widespread speculation about the injury because Cutler missed virtually the entire second half yet there wasn't a clear cut hit that indicated he was injured and he was able to ride a stationary bike and stand on his two feet throughout the game.

"MCL sprain. That's what the injury was," Lovie Smith, the Bears head coach said. "We knew that. We had an idea at the time that that's what it was, and that's what we're saying now."
