Will Uncle Mo Race In the 2011 Kentucky Derby?
Say ain't so, Uncle Mo.
The 2011 Kentucky Derby's early favorite Uncle Mo may or not be racing this weekend. Owner Mike Repole with gather his team for further looks at the horse and make an announcement tomorrow morning as to whether or not Uncle Mo will compete in the Derby.
The horse had a prep race on Wood Memorial on April 9 at Aqueduct. He was the favorite there, and was about to win before pulling up near the end and finishing third.
A few days later, Uncle Mo's trainer Todd Pletcher revealed that he came out of the race with a gastrointestinal infection. He has been recovering ever since.
Mo has been running this week and Repole told reporters it was 50-50 chance of whether or not he would ride on Saturday.

Repole wants to make sure his horse is healthy. He told ESPN reporters they won't push it.
We're committed to bringing him over there at 100 percent, anything less than that, we won't accept.
It would be such a shame for the horse to miss out on the biggest race of them all. Luckily for Repole he has another horse in the Derby.
Stay Thirsty is a 20-1 odds horse to win it this weekend. It's a fitting name for the owner. Repole and others launched Vitaimwater. He sold the company to Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion dollars. That will buy you a lot of horses.
Repole, Pletcher, Dr. Ken Reed, and Dr. Steve Allday will all discuss Uncle Mo's bloodwork later today. The announcement is set for tomorrow, and hopefully he can report good news for the young colt.
