Miami Heat: LeBron James Is Happy for Cavaliers Because It Will Ease the Tension

Miami Heat Star LeBron James Hoping Cavaliers' Luck in Draft Lottery Will Erase the Past

Some people may have been surprised when LeBron James came out and said he was happy for the Cleveland Cavaliers organization following an NBA draft lottery yesterday that netted them with the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections in the upcoming draft.

But why wouldn't the Cavaliers' former pride and joy be happy?

This could get him off the hook.

We all know about James' "Decision" to leave Cleveland for the Miami Heat in the offseason, a move that consequently sent the Cavaliers into doom and gloom and the Heat to the Eastern Conference finals thus far.

It's not just Cavaliers' owner Dan Gilbert who has turned on James, it's frankly the city of Cleveland, that once, in what seems like a long time ago, called James one of its own.

But with the Cavaliers' recent lottery luck, all may be forgiven in due time.

There are a lot of thoughts on what the Cavaliers should do with their first two picks. Neither option appears that bad. Some think they should take Duke's Kyrie Irving, who is being compared to Chris Paul, first and grab a forward or a center with the fourth overall pick. Others, like myself, believe they would be better off taking Arizona forward Derrick Williams first and either UConn's Kemba Walker or Kentucky's Brandon Knight fourth overall.

But, either way you look at, the Cavaliers could come out of this with two NBA stars, and that's not bad for a year's work.

When Gilbert rejoiced upon hearing the final order of the 2011 NBA Draft on Tuesday, James rejoiced along with him.

Because who really wants an entire city on your back for the rest of your career?
