The Patriots got a very good value and filled one big need with the #17 overall pick when they selected Mike Pouncey from Florida. However, maybe their biggest need on draft day is adding more talent to their linebacking corps, especially in the form of pass rushers.
Justin Houston didn't always dominate on film, but he has the elite level skill set, quickness, and natural rushing ability to be an outstanding pass rusher in a 3-4 scheme at the NFL level. He'll need some coaching, for sure, but as far as being an athlete and quick rusher is concerned, he should have no problem making an impact early and often for this team.
