Packers favored by three points over Steelers in Super Bowl XLV

The Team of the '60s will be a slight favorite over the Team of the '70s in the Super Bowl.

Oddsmakers have installed the Green Bay Packers as two-point favorites over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Feb. 6 championship game. If the line holds, it would be the smallest since 1982. [Update: It didn't. Early wagering has shifted the line to Packers -3.]

It's quite a leap from three weeks ago, when Aaron Rodgers and company needed a victory in the regular-season finale to sneak into the NFC playoffs as the sixth and final seed. The slight tilt toward Green Bay is as much a nod to the team's strong defensive effort throughout the postseason as it is to the offensive firepower the Packers have shown all season.

This will be the eighth Super Bowl appearance for Pittsburgh. Green Bay will be playing in its fifth.
