2011 NFL Draft: Would Brian Rolle Work for Tampa Bay at Inside Linebacker?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft: Bucs could use more aggressiveness at position:

There are rumblings that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren't completely satisfied with Barrett Ruud at inside linebacker. Although coach Raheem Morris has come to Ruud's defense, the game tape reveals that Ruud isn't as aggressive as premier middle linebackers.

That's why there is talk about the Bucs looking for Ruud's replacement in the 2011 NFL Draft. Russ Lande of Sporting News has the Buccaneers selecting Ohio State linebacker Brian Rolle in the fourth round in his latest mock draft.

Lande lists Rolle as an inside player although he spent most of his college days at outside backer. He's undersized, standing not quite 5'10". He's not particularly fast nor particularly strong.

But Rolle can play football. Just check out the numbers he put up in the Big Ten over the last two seasons as a starter: 171 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, 2.5 sacks and a touchdown.

He gets all over the field and makes an impact. The question will become, if Tampa Bay or another team selects Rolle in the fourth round, does he remain a great college player with limited upside or does he transform into an impact pro?
