If you haven't already heard, Tony Romo broke his clavicle and is probably done for the season. Reports exist that say he'll only miss 8-10 weeks, but let's be real here: why in the world would he rush back?
Shortly after Romo went to the locker room, Ron Jaworski couldn't stop talking about how the Cowboys should be excited that John Kitna is now under center. Seriously Jaws? You think John Kitna is going to help Wade Phillips sleep better at night? You think John Kitna ensures his job? Come on man!
Wait a second! Isn't that a segment on Monday Night Countdown?
Ever since the days of Aikman, Irvin and Smith, the Cowboys have been a team full of swagger, full of egos and most importantly, full of talent.
Jones has always built the Cowboys to be the best. Players, coaches, facilities—you name it—Jones has always been top notch. Until now.
It's no secret that soft-spoken Wade Phillips is not your prototypical leader. He isn't going to ride players for underachieving. He isn't capable of giving offensive input. He isn't going to lead a team through adversity. He's just a "who me?" kind of guy. Not what the Cowboys need.
Enter Jason Garrett, offensive coordinator, assistant head coach and the biggest elephant in any room.

Remember back in 2008 when Jones promoted Garrett to be the OC and assistant head coach? At the time the thought was that Garrett would eventually take over for Phillips as head coach. Well, here we are entering Week 8 of the 2010 season, and amid all this controversy and losing, Wade Phillips is still the head coach.
Either Jason Garrett is completely incapable of running an NFL team, or Wade Phillips has compromising photos of Jerry Jones stuffed away somewhere.
Alright, enough nonsense and onto why you are here.
Here's why Wade Phillips will lose his job:
1. No Super Bowl appearances. Jerry expects results.
2. Even though Wade's defense is ranked in the top 10, they rank last in the NFC in takeaways with 10. For the record, they forced six against the Giants, which means they forced four turnovers in their first five games. Not good.
3. The run game has underachieved all season, but he can't really say anything about it. Why? He's not the coach of the offense. Garrett has mismanaged play calls on key drives all season. Since Wade has the label of head coach, the onus falls on him.
4. With Romo out, the Cowboys need somebody to play damage control. A 1-5 record and John Kitna under center most certainly has some Cowboys wishing they weren't Cowboys. HELP WANTED

5. Sports franchises can have all the coaches in the world. What they really need to be successful is a manager. Wade is a coach. He is great with x's and o's. Just not egos. See what I did there?
One thing I know for sure. The Cowboys lost more than a quarterback, they lost their leader. Jerry Jones says he won't fire a coach midseason. Before this week, I actually believed him.
