As many Bengals fans should already know, WR Terrell Owens is a Free Agent this year. Should they try to re-sign him for a ton of money or start showcasing younger talent?
Owens has a reputation for being a showboating loud-mouth, something most people could live without. In my opinion, when a player is an attention hog, he implies that he is not a "team" player.
There are countless times I have watched some of today's players try to make headlines with their incessant antics on the field. When I watch a football game, I don't want to see choreographed charades. I want to see a stunning team effort.
Sure, we all love big plays, but what if those big plays don't add up to a win? Should we be happy that one of our team's players will make ESPN highlight reels or should we be upset with premature boasting?
Which brings me to my main topic: should the Bengals re-sign T.O.? There is no question that he is still a talented WR. The question comes with the fact that he has played for several different teams and has proven to be nothing more than a distraction.
If a player wants to brag before winning a game, he should put his money where his mouth is.
There it is Bengal fans, what do you think? Has T.O. earned his stripes or should we send him packing?
